Don't Misplace Your Hope
In our daily lives, we some times misplace our hope. Here are just a few places we can lose/misplace our hope:
In ourselves
In our spouse
In our children
In our parents
In our friends
In things
Let us not become so arrogant as to think we can control the outcome of anything. Any little control or hope we have is given to us by God. Yes, He will allow us to think we are "all that" for only so long. So before we have to take a great fall like Humpty Dumpty, let's remain humble and fix our hope in God.
This song comes to mind:
“My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less
by Edward Mote, 1797-1874
Text From:
The Lutheran Hymnal
(St. Louis: Concordia Publishing House, 1941)
1. My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’s blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’s name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.”
