My Inspiration This Season

In a season where many are forgetting the true meaning of Christmas and others are going into debt trying to make some type of magic happen, I received this wonderful gift from Debbie. Debbie read my book and reviewed it! Not only did she review it, it serves as encouragement in this season of my life to continue writing.

Some authors are very disciplined! They have many thoughts or books inside of them and can continue to crank them out every couple months. Me on the other hand, I have more books within, but I find it a little hard to crank out a book. However, I am thankful that God has angels on this earth to encourage those like me.

You can read read the review below. From its contents, I'm reminded to stay the course and walk out my process. The time it takes doesn't matter. The lessons I learn an share do. Thank you Debbie for your gift to me this season.

Forgive Me

Forgive me, I am not perfect.
Forgive me, I've caused many pain.
Forgive me, I had the greatest intentions.
Forgive me of all my shortcomings too.
Forgive me as you would want to be forgiven.
Forgive me as God forgives you.
To forgive me may not be easy.
But to forgive me frees you.

I AM AN OVERCOMER!

This was my 2 hour workout for 10/28/13. (at the start)

Finished!

All stacked!

I started the workout by saying, "me and God gonna do this". Sure it was a lot and I wanted to take breaks. However, if I had stopped, I wouldn't have finished. My message to you: Keep moving, one step or piece at a time. With faith and hardwork, you can accomplish anything.

And while you're moving, remember your past victories. Praise! Praise! Praise!

Don't Misplace Your Hope

In our daily lives, we some times misplace our hope. Here are just a few places we can lose/misplace our hope:

In ourselves
In our spouse
In our children
In our parents
In our  friends
In things

Let us not become so arrogant as to think we can control the outcome of anything. Any little control or hope we have is given to us by God. Yes, He will allow us to think we are "all that" for only so long. So before we have to take a great fall like Humpty Dumpty, let's remain humble and fix our hope in God.

This song comes to mind:

“My Hope Is Built on Nothing Less
by Edward Mote, 1797-1874
Text From:
The Lutheran Hymnal
(St. Louis: Concordia Publishing House, 1941)

1. My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’s blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus’s name.
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand.”

Season of Crying

My Inside Cry

I'm crying hard even when the tears don't flow.
I'm crying inside so that you won't know.
My heart aches...I feel the physical pain.
My thoughts are so confusing.
Could all of this drive me insane?

I cry for friends I will miss.
I cry about the future sunny days and cheery bliss.
Fact of the matter, you're not ordinary people.
We've grown to love you as part of our family...you're apart of us.
So the pain that I feel is like I've been run over by a bus.
It may sound a little extreme, say what you deem.
It's beneath my skin within my heart.
Every time I think about the void, it tears me apart.
Between the tears and the void, there's this hollow hole.
As I continue to cry within, I plead with God to bless my soul.

This cry inside of me is overwhelming!

My Season of Seasoning

Being a writer, I’m always putting my thoughts down. It would be wonderful if I could sit and pump out 2000-5000 words at a time. Those are words on the same subject. (LOL) Anyway, 170 days ago, I found myself feeling alone so I had a conversation with God. God gets straight to the point!

ME: Lord, help me to maintain my saltiness and to shine my light brightly. When the enemy tries to shake the salt out of me and strip me of my light, I need your reinforcement. Please continue seasoning me with salt and bathing me in the light of your Word.
I cry out to you based on my feelings of loneliness in this season. All my relationships are estranged! Even those closest to me seem so far away. It’s crazy! And not to mention, it’s disturbing and discouraging.

However, I know this is all a part of your plan that I may know my true flavor…exactly what seasonings you’ve poured into me. Seasoned for such a time as this doesn’t feel good. And I am aware that I’m not supposed to entertain my feelings, but this place is uncomfortable…it’s lonely!

It’s time for me to dig my heels in and work (in prayer and in the Word) harder than ever before!
But just one question God: Where is my angel entourage? And why am I walking alone again? Okay, maybe that was two questions.

GOD: You are NOT alone! You are in my Army. When I left the earth, I left the Comforter…your teacher. As for everyone being at a distance, that’s by design. Class is in session just for you! I will NOT share you! This is your Seasoning Season.

Matthew 5:13-14 You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden.

My Body! My Temple!

Since my physical body is the dwelling place for the Holy Spirit, I must do the right thing by it. I can’t just eat healthy and not exercise. I can’t just exercise and put whatever I like in my body. I can’t just eat healthy, exercise, and neglect my spirit man. No, I have to perform it all. When my body is healthy, I don’t have to waste energy worrying about it and lose sight of Jesus. In other words, keeping my temple healthy allows my spirit to soar, and I can continue being who God has called me to be. Stop allowing Satan to make nasty deposits in our spirit and sabotaging where God wants to take us by making us slaves within our bodies.

If maintaining your temple is a problem, I invite you to lay this issue at the feet of Jesus. He can help you get healthy. There’s no need to be bigger than you have to be. Weight is an obstacle! Don’t let the devil lie to you! It can hold you back. I talk about ‘big’ because that applies to me. Nonetheless, there is another side of the coin where people are starving themselves. That’s not good either. Don’t abuse the body… period. An unhealthy body is a workshop for the enemy because He knows that your guard is down. Therefore, he wiggles in and deposits self-esteem issues, image problems, and many other spiritually detrimental lies.

You don’t have to kill yourself being somebody that God didn’t create you to be. Just be a healthy you, who strives daily to eat healthy, eating everything in moderation, and getting exercise. However, if you seek God on this issue, he will enlighten you and show you where to begin improving.
Don’t get me wrong—God designed us to be different shapes and sizes. I’m not saying don’t be who God created you to be. I am saying to you with your beautifully designed self, ‘be healthy’. God created us uniquely, and we are His. We will look differently, act differently, but we share the same designer. Just because we are God’s beautiful design, we are not given a pass to unhealthy living. I challenge you to seek God with your all and watch Him work in what you see.

My Words: Life or Death?

The Words I Speak—Life or Death?
The tongue can bring death or life; those who love to talk will reap the consequences. (Prov. 18: 21, NLT)

Sometimes we do toooooo much talking and not enough listening. If you too are guilty of that, please lay it at the feet of Jesus. We must take precise inventory of our words and our conversations. First and foremost, are we including Jesus? Second, are we speaking life in our lives and in the lives of others? Or are we just doing a lot of idol talk—saying a lot of nothing of great importance? Listen, everything has to be deliberate. ‘Therefore, start paying deliberate attention to everything you say. Speak Purposefully!’
Wake up! Realize Satan wants us to destroy ourselves and others fiber by fiber with our tongues. The enemy knows that the only authority he has over us is to get into our thought life and plant seeds of negativity. Satan is looking for those who will speak destruction, granting him access into our lives.
So if we want a lousy spouse, some monster-like kids, a boring job, and a dead church, just keep speaking it. Nothing will change; it will only get worse.
Newsflash: Negativity does not inspire greatness!
Look with me in the mirror and ask yourself the following questions: 1) What special gifts or talents do I have that can affect any of these situations positively? 2) What have I done or can I do more to change my situation for the better? 3) Do I choose to be a problem solver or part of the problem? Bottom line: ‘Lord, what am I doing? Use me!’

I must admit that I have been the problem on numerous occasions because I refused to see any good in the situations I faced. Very early on in my marriage, I spoke divorce every time my husband and I disagreed. Anytime I felt backed into a corner, I’d say, ‘Well, maybe we should just get a divorce.’ I feel so ashamed by writing the foolishness that flowed from my mouth. Though shameful, it is necessary to confess this ugly truth so maybe just one person will think before they speak such detrimental words upon their own union. When I look back, I have to praise God for mercy. He gave me a chance to activate His Word in my life instead of just allowing my husband to go along with my foolish madness.

The best way to escape the enemy’s pitfall with our tongue is through prayer. Jesus is the answer to our every obstacle, but we must know how to activate the power. Matthew 21: 22, NLT, says, ‘You can pray for anything, and if you have faith, you will receive it.’ So we can have what we say if it lines up in the Scriptures. Therefore if God already promised it in the Scriptures, and we put Matthew 21: 22 into action, it is ours. That’s good news! Test the word!
The Word of God is powerful enough to stand on so that we may be able to combat anything. We can test the Word by finding in the Bible where God has agreed to do something about our obstacle and begin to speak the promise over the obstacle. Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the Lord of hosts. For ‘Who are you, o great mountain?’ (Zech. 4: 6-7, NIV). We can take the Word of God and stand up to any obstacle that confronts us, commanding the obstacle to ‘Be gone—move’, and it must obey.

If any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (Jas. 1: 5, ASV)

Each of us have had words spoken over us. Were they positive or negative, and how did they shape the person we have become? Think about that for a moment. If we don’t like the way things are or who we are because of those words, we have the power to change all that by speaking new words. Speak life! Let us not destroy ourselves and our loved ones by letting our tongues run wild and control us. ‘Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit’ (Ps. 34: 13, ESV). We must control our tongues!
‘Beat your plowshares into swords, and your pruning hooks into spears: Let the weak say, I am strong.’ (Joel 3: 10, KJV) That’s speaking life!”

When hell seems to be the only thing in our lives and the fire of life is scorching hot, the only way to be confident is through Jesus Christ. Though it seems crazy to speak life in a recession, speak it. Though you may be jobless, homeless, or walking, declare God’s Word upon your situation. If your marriage is on the brink of divorce, speak love, commitment, and restoration. So what . . . if you are walking to the unemployment line from a shelter. According to Philippians 4: 19, NASB, My God shall supply all your needs according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. It takes bold faith to decree the promises of God daily. However, stand on the promises of God because His Word is true. True! Decree God’s word daily!
Stand on God’s Word and declare it aloud. This helps our confidence. Positive words stimulate positive action. As I decree daily, I am strong in Jesus, I begin to believe it. His Word spoken daily in our lives moves us to action. Declare the Word of God, no matter what. Hell and high water, Declare the word of the Lord!
Remember, God is always orchestrating behind the scenes. He delivers on time… every time. ‘A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things. But I say unto you, that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the Day of Judgment. For by thy words thou shall be justified, and by thy words thou shall be condemned.’ (Matt. 12: 35-37, KJV)
It’s time to stop condemning our lives and the lives of others with our words. Let’s stop polluting the world with our evil speech. We must seize the opportunity to speak miracles and not curses in our lives. Just speak life! Speak life! ‘Speak only what God says about you. Speak life! Think only what God thinks about you. Think life! Live how God commands you to live. Live life!”

Love Me Through?

Sometimes, we go through things. We don't actually know why, but we are in our feelings. When we are in our own heads, what do we really feel? And how do we treat those around us? Do we let them in or do we shut them out? We each have a unique answer. Here's what came to my mind:

There will be days when I am in a bad mood.
Days when I am slightly rude.
There will be times when I am feeling blue and just don't want to be bothered with you.
Days when I feel so sad and everything makes me mad.
Somedays I won't be able to see my way through.
It may be for a day, a month or two.
I may not realize my actions or even care.
But the question is, will you still be there?
We have great times together when I am up!
However, when I'm down, will you still be around?

Although the above may be how we truly feel, let's always seek the Lord in our dealings.

BLESSINGS TO YOU AND HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY!!!

Treasure Every Moment God Gives You

There were these two swimmers  (Justin and Lawrence) who had been swimming for many years . However, they always swam alone in the shallow end of the pool. They probably logged in 20 hours a week at the pool. One day both swimmers were sitting poolside and began talking. They realized that they had a lot in common and enjoyed talking. So , they decided to meet at the pool the next day and do something different. The two men met at the deep end of the pool and dove in. They figured that they hung out at the pool enough over the past few years to take this plunge together. Besides, if something happened they could save each other from drowning

Their first deep water experience was amazing! Both had been so accustomed to swimming alone that they'd never considered the beauty of having someone to share the experience with. The two continued meeting everyday for a year building a strong friendship and comradery. The meeting was automatic and so was the fun,  The swimmers never thought twice about time or the fact that they were swimming in the deep waters something they'd feared doing alone for years. The two men found that the shared experience rejuvenated them, and gave them a zest for life. There worlds were suddenly enhanced by the addition of the other.

But one day something unexpected happened, Lawrence had a family emergency. For weeks, the two would not be able to meet while Lawrence tended to his family matters. Justin missed his friend tremendously. He offered his support but there was nothing he could do. As the days went by and the distance between them grew, their lives, although still busy seem to miss something. They missed each other but of course, they couldn't dwell on that when they had more serious matters to tend to. Those days that were so joyous before were mere memories. Great memories, memories all the same.

The story of Justin and Lawrence is a reminder to treasure the moments that God gives you with those He sends your way. Love them, learn from them and leave them alone when they need space. Enjoy and be thankful for your time with these precious life changing angels. Uphold them in prayer and pray that God graces you with such great times in your future. But never ever take your time spent in the presence of an angel for granted.

Unconditional Love

I saw the sweetest thing today. This older couple was walking down the sidewalk. The husband pushed his walker as his wife walked closely beside him. They suddenly stopped and the wife whips out a handkerchief, wipes his nose and allowed him to blow. WOW! If you had seen this, it was such a warm sight. However, after the moment, I couldn’t help but think about the germs.

My Husband and I:
At my present age, I’m like “babe, you have something on your nose” or “your nose looks like it is running…here.” He will joke and say, “Get it”! Me: “No, You got it. Handle that!” And I think I love him unconditionally! However, I caught a glimpse of something "super" special.

Revelation:
The deeper revelation for me was this: “Whose germs will you let rub off on you so that you may be more Christlike?” Think about that.

Are we so super clean that we are repulsed by others and their germs (problems).  Are we afraid to be sneezed on or visit someone in the hospital because we don’t want to catch what they have? Do we not befriend people because “they just have too many issues”? However, if we look in the mirror, we have just as many issues or more. Not to mention, if we were tested for germs, we’d find so many that are invisible to the naked eye that we would freak out.

Christ took our dirty sins to the cross because He loves us unconditionally!  Whose germs will you let rub off on you to be more Christlike?

Lord, teach us your ways. Teach us to love one another unconditionally.

Purposeful People

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! As I entered this new year, God had me on MUTE status. There are times when we are called to be quiet. I can't say that I love it, but it's necessary. (LOL) This post is short and sweet. It's meant to make you think about the people in your life. Many of us need to figure out quality versus quantity! Who are the purposeful people in your life?

Here's something to think about:

When you’re walking purposefully with the people God has placed in your life, you can take a long ride and just enjoy being in the presence of PURPOSE.  Or you can take a ride to nowhere, talk about nothing and still be filled with joy. When our creator creates, he approves…he says “IT IS GOOD”!  And when He graces us with that which He created “GOOD”, we can appreciate them provided we know God’s provision over us. Thank God for paying the price that we may share purposeful relationships with His people.

That should get those wheels turning. If people are hanging out in your life causing drama, then do they release you to walk in your purpose? And do you call them a purposeful person as it pertains to your life? Surround yourself with purposeful people! They enhance your life. Here's a magazine to encourage you in your purpose:
